Skills Development and Livelihoods Project in Rural Andhra Pradesh for Women

PROGILENCE trained over 100 rural women in Andhra Pradesh in Food Processing and engaged them for producing a range of food products, that were marketed under the banner of PickAmore. The project was successful in a limited manner as funding constraints limited sales and marketing efforts, that is leading to project closure despite a very high quality product and well working system of skills development integrated with a community livelihood development model. A bigger pie of initial capital may have made a substantial difference, but nonetheless the project leaves behind a legacy of learning and insights that continues to guide our work. The products were showcased at WorldFood India, India International Trade Fair and in other regional fairs, etc. It received wide spread acceptance and appreciation.
