Launch of Digital Still Photographer Course Materials for NFDC

On World Photography Day 2020, PROGILENCE saw the launch of its course materials developed for the National Film Development Corporation, supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The course materials developed in its entirety by PROGILENCE includes the Occupational Standards, Curriculum and Content comprising Learner’s Handbook, Trainer’s Guide, Multimedia Content and Teaching Aids including posters, among others.

Currently, there are no benchmarked courses with wide acceptability of certification for a Digital Photographer in India. This course is intended to bridge the gap in what is fast becoming an in-demand profession among the youth. With specialised equipment and skills techniques required for the achievement of proficiency in this occupation, there is a need for benchmarked skills and certification. The Course was approved by the NCVET (formerly NSDA) in its first National Skills Qualification Committee meeting. The course and the qualification are aligned to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). PROGILENCE worked with NFDC to ensure the required formalities and compliances were completed for the NSQC approval of the qualification.
